| Description |
Small shrub
with pointed or oval leaves, which are coarse and usually scalloped edged.
The flowers are packed tightly together in clusters. The colours are
varied, red, pink, yellow or orange depending on the variety. |
| Hazards |
The green
unripe berries are poisonous as are the leaves if eaten. Some varieties
however are non-toxic. |
| Effects |
Vomiting, diarrhoea, general weakness. Signs usually appear within a couple of
hours. In extreme cases where the contents of the stomach have not been
removed unconsciousness, coma and death have been reported. |

This plant
can flower most of the year. Fruits usually appear in autumn. |
