The leaves
are sword like in shape growing from a bulb. The flowers are mainly yellow
trumpet shaped, there are also many cultivated varieties which vary in colour. |

plant especially the bulb is poisonous. Similar to onions in appearance. |

Vomiting,
dizziness, stomach pains and in more extreme cases convulsions and
paralysis. Handling of the plant can cause skin irritation. |
