Description The long leaves have parallel veins, the leaf surface being ridge between them. The star-like flowers are yellowish white or green sometimes red depending on the variety. They  develop on a tall flower spike, leaving seed pods after flowering.
Hazards All of this plant is poisonous but especially the roots and leaves.
Effects Vomiting, diarrhoea, cramps, burning in the throat and mouth. In severe cases can affect the heart and even cause death.
Flowering Period Summer flowers leaving black seed pods when flowers die.
Location Mainly gardens in shady areas.
