Description Tall spires of flowers mainly pink although this does vary in some cases as it is found in many gardens which can display a wide range of colours. The leaves are coarse textured and hairy. The spires can grow to around 1.5 m (5ft) tall.
Hazards Poisoning can occur if any of the plant is eaten.
Effects Vomiting, diarrhoea, abdominal pains, and headaches. Large amounts of toxin are rarely absorbed into the system as vomiting is the main reaction.
Flowering Period June to September.
Location Hedgerows, woodland, roadsides, gardens etc.
